In the world of modern day paintball it seems that newer and faster battery-powered behemoth can be found around every corner. One company however has chosen to stand above the rest and take paintball back to its roots with an updated version of a marker we all know and love.
The new Empire Sniper which is built off of the Autococker Sniper platform is an awesome tournament level pump that can be had for a not so tournament price. The feature loaded marker will comes standard with a 4 piece barrel kit (3 backs and 1 front), on/off, clamping feed neck, Hitman Mod and a crisp auto-trigger. These features can often be found standard in pump markers with a price tag double that of the Empire Sniper. The Empire comes in right around at a retail price of $420.00.
The packaging of the Empire Sniper is exceptional just like all the products coming from the KEE warehouses. I was happy to see the marker included an entire parts kit for all your on the field fixes. Empire has taken advantage of modern technology as the paper manual has gone the way of the Dodo bird and has been replaced with a DVD manual for your viewing pleasure.
The functionality of the Empire Sniper platform is exceptional. The barrel kit that is provided with the marker makes paint to barrel match very easy. If you are shooting a quality ball it will guarantee ball on ball accuracy every time. The pump stroke of the Sniper is a little bit stiff out of the box as any new pump gun will be. One feature that was new to me was the auto-trigger that comes stock on the gun. For those who are not familiar with an auto-trigger, it allows the player to simply hold down the trigger and each pump stroke will produce a shot allowing for an increased rate of fire. This feature I found to be very handy as my enemy would often flee in fear at my ball on ball accuracy. The only complaint I could find with this marker is that Empire had the citizens of munchkin land in mind when they designed the pump handle. My gorilla grips had some difficulty finding their sweet spot on this tiny device.
Overall I would rate the Empire Sniper a 9/10. This Marker will open up the world of pump paintball for many people who would otherwise find it inaccessible. This Marker only loses some points in my book for the stiffness of the stroke out of box and the small pump handle. I would definitely recommend this marker to anybody looking to get into the world of pump play. If you would like to get your hands on one of these beasts simply give us a ring at 1-800-Flag-007.
